Slim Shady is coming to London town. Eminem will make history by becoming the first rapper to headline Wembley Stadium.
The Detroit rapper will be joined by some special guests during the July 11 gig at the 90,000-capacity venue, his first London show since 2001. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 9, at 9 a.m.
He was originally interested in playing Hyde Park, but wasn’t able to get approval.
“I heard that I wasn’t going to be approved to play in Hyde Park and it made me even more excited to play in London this summer,” said Em. “The easiest way to get me to do something is to tell me I can’t do it. Thanks to the Royal Parks for making it all possible.”
Following his London gig, Eminem will tour stadiums in the U.S. with Rihanna on his three-city “Monster Tour,” which kicks off August 7 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.
In an interview with Zane Lowe, he also revealed that he is finishing up the Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf albums and will launch his competitive rap battle league Total Slaughter at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom on July 12.
